Pupil Premium Spending 2015 and 2016 (Draft)
USE OF PUPIL PREMIUM 2014 - 15
Our allocation for pupil premium is £203,830 for the financial year 2014 – 15 and was used to benefit those pupils who have been eligible for FSM in the past 6 years or who are currently eligible. Pupils did not have access to all areas as access was based on the individual needs of each pupil. Some of the interventions provided were:
1. Support for the completion of coursework and controlled conditions work for pupils who have had particular difficulties or who have missed school for a variety of reasons. Cost approx. £15,945
2. Continue to provide support from the assertive mentor team to help raise aspirations and provide help and support where appropriate. This has also been rolled out to Yr 10 as well as Yr11. Cost approx. £21,065
3. Breakfast club targeting students who do not complete homework or coursework on time. This will be staffed with a TA and teacher who will provide help and support with the outstanding work. Also provide revision techniques and classes Cost approx. £3000
4. Intensive maths intervention in small groups for both KS3 and KS4. Cost approx. £5098
5. Intensive English intervention in small groups to provide support with SPAG and also exam techniques for KS. Cost approx. £10,500
6. KS3 students who have low reading and/or spelling scores are to receive small group intensive support on literacy. Cost £12,895
7. The SSC to continue to provide support to pupils in both KS3 and KS4, including alternative provision and support. Including access to outside agencies and curriculum. £38,987
8. Revision guides to be provided for internal and external exams for both KS3 and KS4. Cost £6750
9. Saturday Club for KS4 with staffing for Maths, English and Science Cost £1150
10. Accelerated reading program that will be rolled out for Yr 7, those tested whose reading age was below 7 years received urgent intervention including 1 – 1 reading sessions. Cost approx. £5727
11. Support for career planning from the relevant adviser. All Y11 (Ever6/FSM) pupils to have at least two interviews Cost approx. £3234
12. Extra lessons put on at lunchtime or after school. Cost approx £37,825
13. One TA and teacher has been responsible for auditing Pupil Premium and tracking provision. Cost £5,100
14. Homework club has been run at lunchtimes for KS3 and KS4 to enable students to get help and support to complete work. Cost approx. £5,000
15. Classroom support, teaching assistants in class to offer extra support. Cost approx. £17,000
16. Base 4 support for students with low prior attainment working on basic literacy and numeracy. Cost approx. £18,000
17. Study group for KS4, exam techniques. Cost approx. £1,280
18. HOCA’s intervention with students not making adequate progress. Cost approx. £4,800

An accelerated reader programme is being run with Yr 7, they will all be tested and extra urgent intervention will be provided for students who have a reading age below 7 years and intervention for students below 8 years of age. This scheme is also going to be rolled out to Yr 8 Cost approx. £10,000
14. A specialised English teacher is targeting KS3 students in very small groups to work on SPAG and basic literacy skills to ensure that they achieve their target grade as a minimum. Cost approx. £15,000
15. A specialised English teacher is targeting KS4 students in small groups to work on exam techniques along with basic SPAG and literacy techniques to solidify their learning and ensure that they have the knowledge and ability to reach their target level as a minimum. Cost approx. £20,000
